We are located 6 miles outside of Bandera - the Cowboy Capital of the
World:

Bandera, Texas was founded in 1852 as a cypress shingle camp and
was the site of a Mormon colony established in 1854.  Bandera is one of
the oldest Polish communities in the U.S.

An authentic Western town, surrounded both by working and guest
ranches, Bandera, Texas bills itself as the Cowboy Capital of the World.
Rodeos are held around twice weekly from Memorial Day through Labor
Day.  Check with the Bandera Convention and Visitors Bureau
(
banderacowboycapital.com) for the schedule.

The Medina River is recognized as one of the most scenic and exciting
rivers in Texas, with its small rapids interspersed throughout stretches
of serene, crystal clear water.  Guests staying at the Cowboy Capital RV
Park receive discounts for
Tubing on the Medina River. In addition to
tubing, Bandera is a great place for horseback trail riding.  Bandera
visitors enjoy fine year-round fishing, hunting in seasons for wild turkey
and white-tailed deer, camping, hiking, rodeos, horse races, and two
18-hole golf courses.
If you are into boot-scootin', the Silver Dollar Saloon 11th Street Bar
and Bandera Saloon offer live Country Western dancing entertainment
weekly.
Antiquing, collecting or just browsing in Bandera's many quaint stores is
a favorite pastime.
